Four Arrested After Newport Pier Shooting Leaves One Wounded

A disturbance on Sunday night near Newport Beach Pier turned violent when a dispute escalated and one man fired multiple shots. The victim was struck in the foot and is expected to recover.

Police identified four suspects—three adult men and a 17-year-old—ending with the arrest of 18-year-old David Pennington on suspicion of attempted murder. Local law enforcement, including teams from Huntington Beach and Costa Mesa, tracked the suspect vehicle along the 55 Freeway and recovered a handgun during their sweep.

The incident remains under investigation, and authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward.
