Newport Beach’s American Legion Auxiliary Donates 50 Backpacks to Camp Pendleton Students
In a thoughtful community effort, the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 291 of Newport Harbor in Newport Beach donated nearly 50 backpacks filled with essential school supplies to children at Camp Pendleton Marine Base. The donations, benefiting students from kindergarten through eighth grade, also included binders, notebooks, and other classroom essentials—ensuring these military-connected children start the school year prepared.
This annual initiative is part of the Auxiliary’s long-standing Children & Youth program, which focuses on supporting military families and honoring those who serve. For nearly a century, the American Legion Auxiliary has made a lasting impact in communities nationwide, with Unit 291 continuing to represent Newport Beach through acts of generosity and service.
