Newport‑Mesa Unified School District, serving Newport Beach and Costa Mesa, has outlined key dates for the 2025–26 academic year:

  • First day of school for students: August 18, 2025

  • Labor Day holiday: September 1, 2025

  • TK–6 staff prep day (students off): October 10, 2025

  • District-wide non‑student day for staff professional development: November 5, 2025

  • Veterans Day holiday: November 11, 2025

  • Thanksgiving Break: November 26–28, 2025

  • Winter Recess: December 22, 2025 – January 2, 2026

  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday: January 19, 2026

  • Presidents’ Week break: February 16–20, 2026

  • Spring Break: April 6–10, 2026
