Sherman Library & Gardens Garden Party Raises $77K to Support Educational Programs

Sherman Library & Gardens hosted its annual Summer Garden Party in early August, welcoming around 300 guests who enjoyed dinner, live music, raffles, and a spirited hat contest in the Central Garden. Thanks to strong community support, the event raised over $77,000 to benefit the non-profit’s Habitat Explorers Program, which provides free field trip transportation for Orange County elementary school students.

In the past year, more than 1,600 students participated in Habitat Explorers, gaining hands-on science and STEM learning experiences at the gardens. The event was also highlighted by the presentation of a proclamation to the organization’s executive director by a city council member in recognition of the gardens’ contributions to local education and culture.
