Newport Beach Gears Up for Coastal Cleanup Day on September 20

As part of Coastal Cleanup Month, Newport Beach is inviting local volunteers to help clean up beaches and wetlands on Saturday, September 20. The effort is part of California’s broader Coastal Cleanup Day and will span various locations around Upper Newport Bay. Organizers are seeking around 1,000 volunteers between 9 a.m. and noon to help remove trash and invasive plants along the 11-mile bay loop. Participants are encouraged to wear old clothes, closed-toe shoes, bring water, gloves, and buckets or bags. Details on specific meeting points will be shared closer to the date.
