Newport Beach Police and Fire Departments to Hold Patrol Training at High School Campus This Week
From Monday, July 21 through Friday, July 25 (7 a.m.–4 p.m. daily), the Newport Beach Police and Fire Departments are conducting patrol response training on the Newport Harbor High School campus. This training features realistic scenarios with role players and simulated weapons to enhance officer coordination and emergency response effectiveness.
Campus access will be restricted—you’ll only see authorized personnel on site, and the school will be closed to the public. Residents nearby may hear activity that sounds like disturbances, but it’s just part of the planned training exercise.
This is part of an ongoing effort to ensure Newport Beach first responders are prepared for potential emergencies. The timing was chosen to minimize public impact, scheduling drills when school is out of session.
